Donor Gives His 200th Pint of Blood

Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC), nationally recognized healthcare organization, honors one of our community partners, Patrick Neal, for his commitment to helping others by reaching his goal of donating 200 pints of blood.

Neal was surrounded by family as he walked through the doors of the Blood Donor Center for his standing eight week donation. Neal’s commitment to donation is so valuable, especially since his blood type is O-negative, the universal donor. Our community relies on committed donors like Neal, to supply the Blood Donor Center for patients in need. TGMC Blood Donor Center presented Neal with a watch and cake to celebrate this amazing accomplishment.

TGMC BloodDonor Center encourages everyone to make a commitment to donate. Every two seconds someone is in need of blood and one pint of donated blood can save up to three lives. The entire process can take less than 30 minutes and a person an donate a pint of blood up to six times a year. If you are interested in donating blood, please call the TGMC Blood Donor Center at 985-873-4025 or come by the center located in TGMC’s Medical Annex Building behind the hospital on Belanger Street (across from the parking garage).
