The Foundation for Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) announces Ron and Sandy Brooks as the recipients of the first annual TGMC Healthcare Humanitarian Award. The prestigious award recognizes donors for their philanthropic dedication and commitment to TGMC, allowing the organization to further provide exceptional care to its patients and community. The award was presented at a donor reception held recently to recognize the contributions of numerous donors to the Foundation.
Ron Brooks has served on the Board of Directors for The Foundation for TGMC for 3 years. In his role, Brooks continuously plays an active role in signature events at the hospital with the most notable being the Ron Brooks Blood Drive. The annual blood drive, which he initiated 11 years ago, encourages the community to donate blood at the TGMC Blood Donor Center, providing vital blood donations to thousands of TGMC patients in need every year. Thanks to his initiative, the Blood Donor Center has received over 6,500 pints of blood, all of which is used at TGMC
In addition, the Brooks’ were among the firsts to be recognized as Mother Blanche Society Donors for their generous financial contributions to The Foundation.
“Ron and Sandy Brooks play pivotal roles in positively impacting the lives of our patients,” said Phyllis Peoples, TGMC President and CEO. “With their endless commitment and compassion towards others, the Brooks’ are driving forces in helping TGMC further provide exceptional healthcare.”
The Healthcare Humanitarian Award was created to recognize individuals who have provided exceptional services to the Foundation and to the general public in terms of healthcare. Generous donors support The Foundation for TGMC’s mission to develop and maintain a comprehensive program of financial giving in the community to further promote, develop and expand the services and healthcare of TGMC.
