Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) announced Dr. Ray Cinnater as the recipient of the Golden Stethoscope Award and celebrates his 50th anniversary of dedicated service to the organization.

The prominent Golden Stethoscope Award publicly recognizes a TGMC physician for his or her exceptional level of professionalism, integrity and teamwork in caring for patients and families, as well as interacting with hospital staff members and other physicians. Nominations can be made by physicians, employees, patients, and volunteers and recognizes two physicians a year.

“It is an honor to announce Dr. Ray Cinnater as a recipient of the Golden Stethoscope Award and celebrate his 50 years of devoted service to TGMC, its patients and the community. For five decades, he has provided outstanding internal medicine care to patients,” said Phyllis Peoples, president and CEO. “Dr. Ray Cinnater joined TGMC when we were just a 76-bed hospital. He has been with us through numerous growth and expansions projects, and has seen us transform into a 321-bed nationally recognized facility. It is a true privilege to present him with this recognition.”

Dr. Cinnater has been caring for patients with TGMC since 1967 and has practiced internal medicine with Internal Medicine Associates.  Throughout his career, Dr. Cinnater has cared for many generations of community members. Most recently, he was honored as 2016 Health Care Heroes by New Orleans CityBusiness and received the Medical Director of the Year Award from the Louisiana Nursing Home Association.
