Rehab unit achieves highest rating
Looking for the best in physical, occupational or speech rehabilitation services? Look no farther than your own backyard. The Rehabilitation Center at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) recently achieved the highest approval rating available from CARF, the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The rating, which was given after an on-site three-day survey, places the TGMC facility among the top 3 percent of all rehabilitation centers in the United States, Canada and Western Europe. It's a world-class facility right here in Houma! With accreditation, CARF normally makes recommendations for a facility to improve its services. However, the TGMC center received the maximum three-year reaccreditation with no recommendations for improvement. "This just reinforces what our patients have always known: No one provides better rehabilitative care than we do," says Nancy Dupre, the center's director of therapy services.
