Gallbladder removal surgery
at TGMC

New name. New convenience. Same TGMC location.

Day-surgery procedures can be done faster, easier and more comfortably, thanks to the new Outpatient Pavilion at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC). Hundreds of employees turned out for the facility's public open house on Friday, March 5, 2004. There's good reason for the excitement.

"From the moment you walk in the door until the time you leave, you will have the highest quality of care, as well as the most pleasant and convenient experience possible," says Linda Songy, nurse director of the new facility. "We added 2,500 square feet of space to make this a state-of-the-art center that puts the patient's needs first."

Speed and convenience
Formerly known as the Short Stay Center, the Outpatient Pavilion centralizes preadmission services including radiology, X-ray and blood work. It is no longer necessary to walk throughout the hospital for these pre-admit services. Individual interview rooms help ensure that each patient is seen in a private, secure setting. A new, extremely efficient appointment-setting service has already helped reduce the average patient preoperative visit by 20 minutes.

An eye for style
The Outpatient Pavilion was also designed with comfort and style in mind. The attractive facility includes a covered drive-up entrance, with convenient parking nearby. A skylight floods the waiting area with natural light, and large windows provide views of the beautifully landscaped grounds.

The attention to detail extends to the walls, which are decorated with framed prints by renowned local artist Juana Woodard.

"We wanted the Outpatient Pavilion's look to be appropriate for the high quality of care we provide, but it is also very open and inviting," Songy says. "This is exactly what we were looking for and exactly what the community needs."
