CAPTIAL ONE CLASSIC RETURNS FOR A FIFTH YEAR

The Children’s Coalition for the Bayou Region is pleased to announce a fifth return of the Capital One Classic Golf Tournament running from April 30th, 2008 through May 4th, 2008. The event will be held at Ellendale Country Club on Highway 311 in Houma, LA.
On Tuesday, April 29 at 1:00 pm there will be a Media Day at the Ellendale Country Club Clubhouse.
The tournament begins on Wednesday, April 30th, 2008 with the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center Pro-Am tournament. The tournament allows local golfers the chance to play with professionals from the Adams Pro Tour Series. The tournament will run in a scramble format with three amateurs and one professional on each team.
The Capital One Classic Golf Tournament presented by Terrebonne General Medical Center will run from Thursday, May 1st through Sunday, May 4th. The tournament brings in professional players from around the globe who are currently playing for the Adams Pro Tour Series. The Adams Pro Tour Series has successfully promoted many of its players to the PGA including former Adams star and 2005 Capital One Classic winner PGA professional Bubba Watson.
The tournament welcomes golf enthusiasts from the entire bayou region to spend a few days at Ellendale Country Club to watch tomorrow’s professional competing today!
The Children’s Coalition for the Bayou Region has been serving children and families since March of 2000. The coalition enjoys the membership of over 140 organizations throughout the tri-parish area who share the mission of creating a community that nurtures the body, mind and spirit of children. Proceeds from the tournament will aid the coalition in completing one of its largest goals: the creation of a Children’s Service Center for the tri-parish. The Children’s Service Center will allow families the opportunity to find the help they need for all of their problems under one roof. Bringing together the best in children’s services has always been the foundation of the Children’s Coalition for the Bayou Region.
