The Women's Services and Resource Centré at Terrebonne
General Medical Center provides a wide range of services for the
women of our area. Our program is designed to follow today's women
through all stages of life. Our experienced staff of professionals
are ready to meet each challenge!
Our Staff
TGMC's team of board-certified OB/GYN physicians, registered nurses,
technicians, radiologists, lab personnel, home health personnel,
and educators are experienced in providing total care. We believe
the best way to beat a disease is through a combination of prevention
and expert treatment. TGMC's compassionate and caring staff is prepared
to meet your needs.
Preventive Services
Prevention is the simplest way to beat most diseases. A combination
of education and preventive screenings are the key to successfully
defeating problems before they arise.
- Breast Care - We offer screening mammograms, educational programs,
biopsies, and professional speakers to help you stop problems
before they start;
- Osteoporosis Care - TGMC offers dietary counseling, exercise
regimens, physician presentations, and scans to measure bone density;
- Routine GYN Care - Our staff can provide quality treatment
of infections, pap smears, endometrial biopsies, birth control
measures, management UTI's, incontinence treatment, hormone replacement
therapy, premenstrual syndrome management, menopause management
and infertility management;
- Heart Care - We offer EKG testing, stress testing, echocardiograms,
peripheral studies, dietary counseling, patient education, holter
monitors, and nuclear testing;
- Diabetes Care - TGMC's Diabetes Management Center offers treatment
of diabetes for women. Diet counseling, diabetes management and
evaluations are available;
- Cancer Care - TGMC's Cancer Care Center offers a full range
of oncology services including radiation treatments, chemotherapy,
brachytherapy, and a full support services program.
Latest Technology
The staff of the Women's Services and Resource Centré
uses the latest in technology and procedures to combat an illness
when it occurs. State-of-the-art technology such as laser-assisted
surgery, bone densitometry, laparoscopy, ultrasoundography, and
mammogramy can detect problems in the early stages ... the time
when they're most treatable.
Educational Programs
Education plays an important role in illness prevention and treatment.

Bright Beginnings
At TGMC, we know a new arrival is an event you will
remember for the rest of your life. That's why we are committed
to making sure you're fully prepared to meet the challenges that
your baby will bring. We pride ourselves on the fact that our care
is "family-centered" ... we want to ensure that every member of
the family is involved.
We offer a staff that's highly qualified and experienced in maternal
and infant care. They're ready to meet your needs from the beginning
of your pregnancy, right through to delivery.
Beginning months before your delivery, we offer classes and information
to help you on your way to the big day. Our classes are designed
to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the entire
family. They include:
- Prepared Childbirth Classes - A series of six classes that
provides an in-depth look at the upcoming delivery, and what can
be expected afterwards. Topics covered include Lamaze breathing
techniques, the labor and delivery process, positioning, delivery
choices, comfort measures, and baby care.
- Prenatal Class - This class covers the labor and delivery process,
newborn procedures, hospital stay, the baby's hospital stay, and
newborn safety.
- Sibling Classes - These classes focus on helping brothers and
sisters understand what it means to have a new baby at home. The
classes teach how to diaper, feed, and hold a baby.
- Breastfeeding Classes - Taught by our certified lactation consultant,
this class provides information on breast changes, breastfeeding
after delivery, nursing at home, and how to handle potential problems
that may develop while nursing.
- Infant Massage - A four week class focusing on massage techniques
for newborns and infants to aid in baby's growth and development,
ease colic, and relieve insomnia.
