Ashley, Richard, and Whitney Wyman made a generous donation of care packages to the children and their families who were patients of Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) Pediatric Unit on Christmas Eve. Last year the Wyman family spent Christmas Eve in the TGMC Pediatric Unit with their one year old daughter, Whitney. During their stay a family visited the unit and delivered special care packages to the children on Christmas Eve.
“This family brightened our Christmas especially since our baby girl was in the hospital. The family mentioned that this would be their last year to visit the pediatric unit and it was at that time that my husband, Richard and I decided to make it our mission to give back to the families who find themselves in the hospital on Christmas,” said Ashley Wyman.
The Wyman family made care packages with coloring books, colors, pencils, paddle balls and a Christmas book that explains the meaning of Christmas.
“TGMC and our patients are very blessed to have such giving people in our community. The care packages for our Pediatric patients were very thoughtful. It can be very difficult for families to spend their holiday in the hospital, but having the loving support and kindness from community members such as the Wyman family can really make the holidays bright for our patients,” said Phyllis Peoples, president and CEO of TGMC.
