Providing exceptional healthcare with compassion is the mission of every employee at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC). In an effort to recognize those employees that truly exemplify TGMC’s mission in action, TGMC has implemented the Mission in Action (M.I.A.) award program. This program recognizes employees that make it their priority to go above and beyond their call of duty to provide exceptional healthcare with compassion to patients and their caregivers.
TGMC is proud to recognize Toni Armstrong, RN, Director of 3N, Medical & Oncology, and Skilled Nursing Facilities, with the TGMC Mission in Action Award.
Toni recently gave one of her coworkers, also a patient at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC (MBPCC at TGMC), a very special gift. Toni gathered a variety of photos from the patient’s coworkers and family to design a custom quilt that featured the pictures on the front of the blanket. Toni intended for the quilt to be given anonymously and to be used by her coworker during her chemotherapy treatments at MBPCC at TGMC.
“Toni’s story is one that truly lives our mission of providing exceptional healthcare with compassion. Her thoughtfulness for others stretches beyond her personal life and into her career, making her such a valuable asset to our team and TGMC,” said Phyllis Peoples, President and CEO of TGMC.
