The Foundation for TGMC to Hold Clay Shoot

Shooting enthusiasts will have a great opportunity to explore their competitive nature, enjoy great conversation, delicious food, and a spirited auction all while supporting The Foundation for TGMC. This event specifically supports cardiovascular research and community wellness. The Foundation for Terrebonne General MedicalCenter (TGMC) will host the third annual “Take Aim at Heart Disease SportingClay Shoot” on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Tri-Parish Sporting Clay in Houma. 

The entry fee for a team of four is $750 with optional clay shooting games for an additional cost.   A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are also available to individuals and businesses. “The purpose of the annual Take Aim at Heart Disease Clay Shoot benefiting TheFoundation at TGMC is to generate funds so that TGMC can continue research that allows us to bring the utmost care in world-class cardiovascular services,”explained Paul Labat, Foundation spokesperson.

Over the last two years, the Take Aim at Heart Disease Clay Shoot has generated more than $30,000 to go directly to The Structural Heart Program at TGMC. This world-renowned program is the only of its kind offered in southeasternLouisiana. Local cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons provide life saving procedures for patients with heart valve disorders and/or structural heart defects. These physicians use minimally-invasive catheterization procedures to treat cardiovascular disease, and pioneer innovative techniques to treat life-threatening structural heart disorders. 

“Our advanced cardiovascular programs provide innovative heart treatments and solutions to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients with structural heart diseases and conditions,” said PhyllisPeoples, TGMC president and CEO.  “We are proud to have this acclaimed expertise right here at TGMC and encourage our community to get involved in the Take Aim at Heart Disease Clay Shoot to support this wonderful cause,” she added.

The mission of The Foundation for TGMC is to develop and maintain a comprehensive program of financial giving in the community for the sole purpose of promoting, developing, and expanding the services, functions,purpose, and mission of TGMC in providing exceptional healthcare with compassion. The goals of The Foundation are to expand healthcare opportunities, utilizing the talent and professionalism at TGMC, for the residents of our area and to nurture and encourage a philanthropic spirit for all. Other ways the foundation has supported TGMC and this community includes community sports education and prevention, blood donation programs, education of high school students on driving distractions, and medical equipment.
