TGMC's Diane Yeates Named City Business 2014 Women of the Year Honoree


Terrebonne General Medical Center’s (TGMC) Diane Yeates has been recognized as a 2014 Women of the Year honoree by New Orleans CityBusiness.  Each year, New Orleans CityBusiness recognizes 50 outstanding women based on their career and community contributions. 

Yeates,who holds the position of Chief Operations Officer,is honored to have her 24 years of healthcare experience in administration recognized as exceptional. Under her leadership, TGMC established the $18.5 million Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC, developed the successful partnership to save the crucial services for the uninsured and under insured at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center and created a prevention and wellness program as part of the Healthy Lifestyles Center at TGMC.

“It is a privilege to be recognized alongside so many strong female leaders in our region,” said Yeates. “This honor is a testament to the exceptional healthcare delivered at TGMC, and I share this award with all of those dedicated individuals who compassionately care for our community every day.”

In addition to enhancing medical services for her region, in 2013 Yeates leveraged her position at TGMC to truly give back to   organizations such as  United Way of South Louisiana,Community Hospital 100, La Terre Federal Credit Union, Louisiana Hospital Association, and American College of Healthcare Executives.She also volunteers her time for numerous community and charity events,such as American Cancer Society Relay for Life, , Super Cooper Walk,   TGMC Ladies Night Out Cancer Fundraiser, Mary Bird Perkins @TGMC  events, Foundation for Terrebonne General events,  Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence TGMC 5K Run for Excellence and Food Fest, and Best of Bayou festival. 

Yeates is among 49 other inspiring women across a variety of industries in the Greater New Orleans-area honored by New Orleans CityBusiness at the 2014 Women of the Year award. The honor reaffirms Diane Yeates’ commitment to her work and her community,epitomizing what it means to be a positive woman of influence in Louisiana.
