TGMC Partners with Bayou Region Black Nurses Association to Provide Health Expo

Terrebonne General Medical Center’s (TGMC) advanced Healthy Lifestyle Center continues to promote healthy living by proudly partnering with the community in the upcomingBayou Region Black Nurses Association (BRBNA) Health and Fitness Expo.

TGMC’s commitment to providing education, prevention, and care relating to health and wellness in our community is evident through the programs of our HealthyLifestyles Center and partnerships with our local community. Whether it’s improving your fitness, creating a healthier eating plan, or learning tools to become a high performance athlete, the Healthy Lifestyles Center has the tools you need to create your path to a healthier you.

The BRBNA is a local chapter that was formed with 40 members of nursing students,registered nurses and retired nurses. The BRBNA Health and Fitness Expo will be the first of its kind for the BRBNA. By bringing a health expo to Houma, the BRBNA hopes our community will begin taking control of their health.

The health expo will be held at Evergreen Cajun Center on March 7th from 10am to 2pm. There will be health screenings, blood drive, nutritional advice, 20minute workouts and a Kids Zone. There is information for all ages as well as food and entertainment. TGMC’s Healthy Lifestyle Center, Health and Sports performance experts will be providing children’s activities in the Kid Zone. Workout information and spin bicycles will be provided for the adults from our Workout 360 experts. TGMC’s Community SportsInstitute will also be on hand with information for student athletes and families. The BRBNA Health Expo is free to the community and people of all ages are encouraged to attend.
