TGMC in Critical Need of Blood


TerrebonneGeneral Medical Center’s (TGMC) Blood Donor Center is experiencing a critical bloodshortage due to high demand. All blood types are needed, particularly O+ and A+types at this time.

Bloodis needed every five seconds for babies, cancer patients, burn victims,emergency surgeries, trauma patients, and many others. TGMC’s Blood DonorCenter needs your help to ensure a safe and adequate blood supply for patientsthat are treated at right here at our community. The Blood Donor Center providesblood to TGMC patients that require transfusions. Your donation helps ourpatients and our community and has the ability to save three lives with thepint you donate. Donorsmust be 17 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds. The donation process takesabout 40 minutes.

To avoidwaiting you can make an appointment but walk-ins are welcome. Please call theTGMC Blood Donor Center at (985) 873-4025 to schedule an appointment. The BloodDonor Center is located in the TGMC Annex building next to the Medical Artsbuilding located on Belanger Street. Donors can park directly in front of thebuilding in the designated Blood Donor Center parking spaces.
