Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) is pleased to announce Beau Leonard as the new director of the Telemetry Patient Care Unit.

Leonard earned his Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Louisiana State University and his nursing degree from Nicholls State University and is currently enrolled in the primary care nurse practitioner program at Louisiana Health Sciences Center. Leonard has worked at TGMC for six years and started his career as a staff nurse before being promoted to the patient placement department.

The Telemetry unit at TGMC treats cardiac patients who require monitoring of heart rhythms. Experienced nurses and staff are able provide compassionate care to patients who have undergone heart procedures and surgeries. In addition to cardiac patients, this unit also cares for other cardiac related illnesses and diseases.

“I am proud to be a member of the TGMC and enjoy caring for patients and their families. I look forward to working with our exceptional nursing staff on the Telemetry unit and continuing to provide compassionate care to our community,” said Sardella.

“Our Telemetry unit has been a place of outstanding care for our patients. We have an exceptional team of nurses, physicians and staff providing specialized care to patients who need to be closely monitored,” said Phyllis Peoples, president and CEO of TGMC. “We are so proud to have Beau, a highly trained nurse and leader, to serve as the director of this state-of-the-art telemetry unit of excellence.”
