Providing exceptional healthcare with compassion is the mission of every employee at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC). In an effort to recognize those employees that truly exemplify TGMC’s mission in action, TGMC has implemented the Mission in Action (M.I.A.) award program.  This program recognizes employees that make it their priority to go above and beyond their call of duty to provide exceptional healthcare with compassion to patients and their caregivers.

TGMC is proud to recognize Rose Cuneo, RN, House Supervisor with the TGMC Mission in Action Award.

Rose Cuneo makes it her goal each and every day to live out the TGMC mission. While working as house supervisor at TGMC, Cuneo went above and beyond to assist one of TGMC’s Registered Nurses to help their patient make a very special phone call. This patient’s family lived in India and making an international phone call was cumbersome. Cuneo took it upon herself to purchase a calling card for the patient so that he could call his wife and family in India. As the patient called his family, his wife answered the phone and joy and happiness spread across his face. Rose truly made a huge difference in this patient’s life by giving him the simple pleasure of speaking with his family.

“Many times it’s the little things that our staff members do that make such a huge difference in the lives of our patients. Something as simple as finding a way for a patient to speak with his family brought joy to this patient’s life. Rose is a great example of how TGMC’s staff members go above and beyond to provide exceptional healthcare with compassion to all of our patients at TGMC,” said Phyllis Peoples, President and CEO of TGMC. “We are proud of her efforts and encourage all of our staff to continue to live out our mission every day,” Peoples continued.
