Donna LeCompte, RN at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) has been honored with “The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.”
This award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. Mark Barnes and his family founded the award in 1999, and Terrebonne General Medical Center joins 708-other medical facilities honoring their nurses with this special award. The Daisy award is given to a nurse who exemplifies the kind of nurse that patients and families as well as nurses and physicians recognize as outstanding.
LeCompte was nominated by a patient’s family member. This family member described Donna as being very caring during their difficult time. She sat with the patient’s family and comforted them as a friend. She was extremely attentive and went above and beyond her duties to ensure the comfort of her patient and family.
“A special thanks to all responsible for nominating me for the Daisy award. I am honored and humbled. For the last twenty years at TGMC, I have been blessed to be surrounded by a great group of co-workers. Together as a team, we strive daily to give exceptional patient care. Thanks for recognizing my hard work,” said LeCompte.
