Amy Ponson has joined Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC as its new Director of Development. Born and raised in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, she earned her bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Louisiana State University. Ponson has prior experience in healthcare communications as a marketing and planning representative for Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC). She is a member of both the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce and the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce. Ponson is also part of the Women’s Business Alliance through TGMC. As Director of Development, she will be responsible for the implementation and growth of a philanthropic program to raise awareness and support for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC.

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC provides the full spectrum of cancer care, from prevention and early detection to diagnosis, treatment, recovery and survivorship for those in the Bayou Region. Its services include chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery, as well as patient navigation, clinical trials and free community screenings. The Center is nationally accredited with commendation and recognized for excellence in cancer care by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
