Bailey Price Pullen, Ph.D., DABR

Since 1996, Bailey Price Pullen, Ph.D., DABR has been the consulting Medical Physicist for Terrebonne General Medical Center. Dr. Pullen completed his formal Gamma Knife Radiosurgery training in June 2000 at the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden and since then has personally assisted over 150 of these procedures.

The American Board of Radiology certified Dr. Pullen in 1993 as a Therapeutic Radiological Physicist. His professional affiliations include memberships in the American College of Radiology, American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Association of Physicists in Medicine, Health Physics Society, Louisiana Society of Radiation Oncology, New Orleans Radiation Oncology Society, and the American Physical Society.

He received his BS degree, Masters of Science, and Ph.D. all from the University of Tennessee. In 1963, Dr. Pullen graduated with a BS degree and then went onto obtain his Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies in 1967. He then completed his education with a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Physics Division in 1969.

In 1963 - 1967, Dr. Pullen worked as a Radiation Physicist at Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies. He then served as a Health Physicists & Director of Radiation Safety for the University of Tennessee from 1967 - 1968.

In 1970, Dr. Pullen moved from Tennessee to Louisiana. For the next 21 years, he served as a professor for Louisiana State University in the Chemistry and Physics departments. Also from 1978 - 1984, Dr. Pullen worked at the Nuclear Entergy Division for the State of Louisiana. He worked in health physics in industrial radiography, including designing radiation devices, formulating safety and calibration procedures, coordinating special projects and assisted in licensing, regulation, and training certification for Nuclear Systems, Incorporated, in Baton Rouge, LA.

Then in 1991, he moved to New Orleans where he served as a Medical Physicist at Ochsner's Center for Radiation Oncology. In 1995, Dr. Pullen was as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at Tulane University. Finally from 1996 - 1999, he was the Chief of Clinical Physics for the Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center in New Orleans.

Dr. Pullen has been a consulting Medical Physics for Terrebonne General Medical Center since 1996. Over the years, Dr. Pullen has published several technical material reports, abstracts, and conducted several nuclear experiments.
