David K. Caletri, MD

Since September of 2001, David K. Caletri, MD has served as the Radiation Oncologist for the Gamma Knife® Center at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

Dr. Caletri has been on staff at Terrebonne General for almost ten years and has extensive experience in Radiation Oncology. Since completing his formal training in Gamma Knife radiosurgery at the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, he has personally helped performed over 40 of these procedures.

Dr. Caletri's areas of special interest and experience include:

  • Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery
  • Brachytherapy

In June of 1993, Dr. Caletri became board certified in Radiation Oncology. His professional affiliations include membership in the American College of Radiology, American College of Radiation Oncology, and the American Medical Association.

Dr Caletri is a native of New Orleans, where he graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1978. He received two Bachelor of Science degrees from Louisiana State University: BS in Chemistry in 1982 and a BS in Biochemistry in 1984. Dr. Caletri received his medical degree in 1988 from Louisiana State Medical Center in New Orleans.

Dr. Caletri completed his Internship at Charity Hospital of New Orleans in 1989. Following his Internship, he went on to complete his Residency work at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA in the Radiation Oncology Department from 1989 - 1993. After finishing his training in 1993, Dr. Caletri moved back to Louisiana with his wife and three children and began working for Terrebonne General Medical Center. He worked for Terrebonne General's Cancer Center from 1993 - 1999, and for the past four years, Dr. Caletri has worked for Terrebonne General's Radiation Oncology Department.
