RON BROOKS CHALLENGE BRINGS OVER 900 PINTS OF BLOOD TO TGMC BLOOD DONOR CENTER
Date released: 11/30/2012
Over 900 pints of blood were collected during the 6th Annual Ron Brooks Louisiana State University (LSU) versus The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) Blood Drive Challenge for Terrebonne General Medical Center’s (TGMC) Blood Donor Center.
Rob Brooks, an avid Ole Miss fan, challenged our community to donate blood to the TGMC Blood Donor Center for the past several years during football season. If at least 625 LSU fans donated blood from September until the LSU versus Ole Miss football game in November, Ron Brooks donates $1000 to the Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF). Fans surpassed the goal making the grand total 923 pints of blood donated to TGMC’s Blood Donor Center.
This year each donor was registered into a drawing for a football signed by the legendary Manning family. The winner of the football was Kenny McGee. TGMC and Ron Brooks would like to thank all who participated.
Blood donations are a crucial part of the saving lives within our community. One pint could save up to three lives. TGMC would like to remind you that blood donation is needed all year and we encourage you to donate the gift of life. One pint can save up to three lives.
